Hormone Optimization for Women—Thoughtful, Physician-Led Care

Hormonal changes can affect how you feel, function, and age—but more hormones are not always the answer.

Our approach to hormone optimization for women is medical, individualized, and outcome-focused, supporting symptom relief while prioritizing long-term health and safety.

What Is Hormone Optimization?

Hormone optimization goes beyond treating a single symptom. It is a structured medical process that aims to:

  • Identify hormonal imbalances contributing to symptoms

  • Restore hormones to physiologic, age-appropriate ranges when appropriate

  • Support whole-body health, not just short-term relief

Hormone optimization may be considered during:

  • Perimenopause

  • Menopause and post-menopause

  • Other periods of hormonal disruption or decline

Care is always guided by symptoms, clinical context, and evidence—not by lab numbers alone.

Hormones We Address

Estrogen

Estrogen plays a central role in temperature regulation, bone density, cardiovascular health, mood, sleep, and vaginal health. Fluctuations or deficiency can contribute to hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, and genitourinary symptoms.

Progesterone

Progesterone supports sleep quality, mood stability, and uterine health. In perimenopause, declining or erratic progesterone levels are a common contributor to insomnia, anxiety, and cycle changes.

Testosterone

Though often overlooked in women, testosterone contributes to energy, motivation, libido, muscle mass, and cognitive function. Low levels may affect quality of life in some women, particularly after menopause.

Who May Benefit from Hormone Optimization

Women may seek hormone optimization for concerns such as:

  • Persistent fatigue or low resilience

  • Sleep disturbances

  • Mood changes, anxiety, or irritability

  • Brain fog or reduced concentration

  • Hot flashes or night sweats

  • Low libido or sexual discomfort

  • Changes in body composition or muscle mass

These symptoms can overlap with thyroid dysfunction, iron deficiency, metabolic conditions, or chronic stress—making proper assessment essential.

Our Physician-Led Process

1

Comprehensive Evaluation

We begin with a detailed assessment of:

  • Symptoms and health goals

  • Menstrual and reproductive history

  • Medical history and medications

  • Sleep, stress, nutrition, and activity patterns

  • Targeted laboratory testing when indicated

This ensures hormone therapy is considered thoughtfully and appropriately.

2

Individualized Treatment Planning

When hormone therapy is appropriate, we develop a personalized plan that may include:

Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
We use regulated, standardized bioidentical hormones that are molecularly identical to those produced by the body. These therapies are selected for their safety profile, dosing accuracy, and clinical evidence.

Estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone may be used individually or in combination, depending on your needs and medical history. The hormones can be administered by Oral Medications, Topical Creams or Pellets.

Non-Hormonal Support
Lifestyle strategies, nutritional guidance, sleep optimization, and stress regulation are integrated to enhance outcomes and reduce reliance on medication alone.

3

Ongoing Monitoring & Optimization

Hormone optimization is not static. We use:

  • Symptom tracking

  • Periodic lab reassessment when appropriate

  • Scheduled follow-ups

This allows for careful dose adjustment and ensures therapy remains effective and safe over time.

Bioidentical Hormones—What That Really Means

“Bioidentical” refers to hormones that are structurally identical to endogenous human hormones.

Some bioidentical hormones are available as approved, regulated prescription products. These meet strict standards for quality, consistency, and safety.

Custom-compounded hormone formulations are not regulated to the same degree and may carry risks related to dosing variability and purity. For this reason, we prioritize regulated therapies whenever possible.

Beyond Menopause—Long-Term Health Focus

Hormone optimization also considers:

  • Bone density preservation

  • Muscle mass and metabolic health

  • Cardiovascular risk factors

  • Cognitive health and quality of life

Our goal is not just to help you feel better now—but to support healthy aging.

Beyond Menopause—Long-Term Health Focus

Most hormone optimization visits can be delivered safely through virtual care, offering:

  • Convenience and flexibility

  • Reduced time burden

  • Consistent follow-up and monitoring

In-person testing or referrals are coordinated when clinically required.
